What's the difference between an Instant Exchange and a Standard Exchange?

Exchanges with The Saree Room are easy and hassle-free through our online return/exchange platform. Simply select the item(s) you wish to return and either change the size, or you can proceed to the “Shop Now” window to choose something new with the store credit earned through the returning piece(s). To make sure your item qualifies for an exchange, please see the “What are the Conditions to Process an Exchange?” section below.

If there is a difference in value for the new items you hope to receive, you may be reimbursed the difference (through store credit) or see a payment field on the cart page to complete the exchange process. Any reimbursement will be processed once the items returning are received to our warehouse in good condition.

Please Note: Shipping and Insurance do not count as credit toward your exchange.

INSTANT EXCHANGE [HIGHLY RECOMMENDED]

We highly recommend you process an Instant Exchange. When you choose to do an Instant Exchange, your new item will ship immediately once the Instant Exchange is processed, instead of waiting for your item to be received by our warehouse.

A hold is placed on your credit card which is lifted once we’ve received the item you are exchanging.
We strongly recommend this option because you will receive your exchange ASAP and there is no worry that your item will go out of stock while in transit to our warehouse.

STANDARD EXCHANGE:

A Standard Exchange is similar in process to an Instant Exchange but you don’t need to put a hold on your card to process. Once you have submitted your return online, you will receive a shipping label to send your items back to our warehouse. Once the package is received, reviewed and processed by our team, your new exchange order will be created to be shipped by the next business day.

If you process a standard exchange and the item you are trying to exchange for goes out of stock while in transit, you will receive a store credit rather than the exchanged item.

Is there a fee for exchanges?

No, we proudly offer FREE 15-Day Exchanges from the date of fulfillment for all of our customers.

What are the conditions to process an exchange?

Your exchange request will be accepted with no hesitation, given that these conditions are met:

  • No Damages
  • Has not been soiled
  • Has not been washed
  • Has not been worn
  • Has not been altered (including removing stitches to size up blouse)
  • All labels and tags are attached
  • Exchange has been processed via our returns/exchange portal within 15 days of fulfillment
What products are excluded from exchanges?

Sale items, jewelry, clutches, the Volume Underskirt, and any other products marked “final sale” on the product page are excluded from exchanges.

Can I exchange items purchased during a promotion or sale?

All items in our sale section are final sale and cannot be exchanged or returned.

Any items purchased during a sale or promotion are non-refundable. Eligible items in that order can be exchanged or returned for store credit only.

Please note that our sale-specific terms and conditions apply if they are different than any terms described above.

Can I exchange/return an exchange?

No, all exchanged items are considered final sale.

How do I use the exchanges portal?

Step 1: Click "Start an Exchange" below.

Step 2: Enter your order number and Postal/Zip Code

Step 3: Select the item(s) you wish to exchange

Step 4: Select the reason for your exchange

Step 5: If exchanging for a new size select "Exchange for New Size" - if exchanging for a different product, select "Return Item"

Step 6: If you selected "Exchange for New Size" in Step 5, follow the instructions to complete your exchange. Be sure to select Instant Exchange for a faster and guaranteed exchange process. If you selected "Return Item" on Step 5 now select "Continue with Return"

Step 7: Select "Shop Now" and use the credit provided to shop for any other items.

When can I expect my exchange?
  • Standard Exchange Orders are created once your return is processed in our warehouse
  • Instant Exchange Orders are created as soon as you process & submit your return in our online portal

Can I add a discount code to my exchange?

Our Return Portal adds a Bonus Credit to your purchase while shopping for an exchange, in addition to honouring any applicable discounts used in the Originating Order, therefore additional discounts cannot be added to an Exchange Order. If you wish to use a discount, we encourage you to redeem it on a new purchase.

What is Bonus Store Credit?

Within 15 days of order fulfillment, you can process a return and receive bonus store credit for eligible items. This means we’ll provide you with credit equal to the amount you paid for the item you’re returning, plus an additional Bonus Credit to use toward something new. If you’d prefer not to use the bonus, you’ll still receive credit for the value you paid at checkout for your returned item — and the credit never expires!

How is store credit calculated if I return an item purchased during a promotion?

If you process a return for store credit during a sale or promotion, the store credit amount will equal the price you actually paid at checkout for the item.

Example A: If you purchased during a Buy 1 Get 1 Free promotion and return your free item, the return value of that item will be $0.

Example B: If you purchased during a Buy 1 Get 1 50% OFF promotion and return the discounted item, the store credit issued will equal the discounted price you paid (50% off) at checkout

Is there a fee for returns?

While the return itself is free, there is a label fee that will be deducted from your refund. Label fees vary depending on your location:

Canada & USA: $14.95 Label Fee will be deducted from your refund.

We strongly suggest processing an Exchange or accepting store credit equal to the amount you paid for your items in order to not incur fees.

Can I get store credit?

100% and we strongly recommend it. When you select store credit, you will receive credit equal to the amount you paid for your items without any label fees deducted.

Step 8: Choose "Refund to Orignal Payment Method" (less the label fee) or Select "Store Credit" and receive the FULL VALUE of your items in the form of a gift card that does not expire.

Can I exchange/return an exchange?

No, all exchanged items are considered final sale.

How many returns can I make per order?

Please note that only one return request can be processed per order. Be sure to include all items you wish to return in a single submission.
