The Saree Room Partners with Shield Hero to Donate Critical PPE for COVID-19
Small Businesses Join Forces to Protect Healthcare Workers

April 23, 2020 (TORONTO)  - The Saree Room, a Toronto-based global fashion brand, announced today its initiative to support frontline healthcare workers tackling the COVID-19 crisis.

Co-founders Adam Meghji and Sofi Kassam recently launched The Saree Room (TSR) FrontLine program which donates one reusable face shield for every $25 spent on gift cards.  They have challenged other small businesses to join their efforts as critical personal protective equipment (PPE) supplies dwindle globally.

“The COVID-19 pandemic, while tragic, is presenting countless opportunities for cooperation and goodwill within our own communities,” said Adam Meghji, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of The Saree Room. “Our FrontLine program aims to provide healthcare workers with sustainable protective equipment, while also encouraging consumers to support small businesses during this unprecedented period of history.”

Rahim Bhimani, Founder of Shield Hero commented: “The reason for designing and producing these sheilds was simply to do my part as a Canadian. Our healthcare workers are selflessly putting their lives on the line and they need to be well equipped to help society. I’m pleased to partner with The Saree Room and other small businesses to support our critical frontline workers.”

The Saree Room will also be accepting submissions via Instagram to donate 50 face shields to a healthcare worker or institution in need.  To learn more about the #TSRFrontLine instagram contest, please visit www.instagram.com/thesareeroom and follow @thesareeroom.
